FOR THE MOTHER HOLDING HERSELF TOGETHER
Dear Evolving Woman,
Motherhood is beautiful… but it can also be consuming in ways no one fully explains beforehand.
Your days are filled with taking care of everyone else.
Little needs, big needs, constant needs.
You love your children deeply, but somewhere in the middle of the schedules, the laundry, the meals, and the endless responsibilities, it’s easy to look up one day and quietly wonder:
Where did I go in all of this?
You are still the woman who had dreams, interests, and thoughts that belonged only to her.
Becoming a mother added to who you are; it didn’t erase you.
But holding onto yourself in the middle of motherhood can feel hard.
So, I want to gently ask you something:
When was the last time you did something just for you?
What parts of you existed before motherhood that still matter today?
What would it look like to care for yourself with the same tenderness you give everyone else?
You don’t have to choose between being a good mother and being yourself.
And both of those parts are worthy, important, and allowed to exist together.
Be gentle with yourself in this season.
You are doing more than enough.
And even here, in the middle of it all, you are still evolving into a woman who is learning how to care for others without leaving herself behind.
Love,
Maya Ellis
